  • Introduction

    The fight against bacterial infections is one of the great success stories of medicinal issue. Antimicrobial agents kill microorganisms or inhibit their growth. They can be classified according to their function and the microorganisms they act primarily against. The main classes of antimicrobial agents are disinfectants, antiseptics, antibiotics and antibacterial. Ancient Egyptians and ancient Greeks used specific molds and plant extracts to treat infection. Many antimicrobial agents exist, for use against a wide range of infectious diseases.

    Aims and Scope:

    1. The development of the range of chemical and natural compounds are used as antimicrobials
    2. The use of new antimicrobial agents in the food industry as preservatives
    3. Investigation of antibacterial and anticancer effects of native essential oils and extractions of medicinal plants
    4. The synthesis of new chemical substances with antimicrobial properties
    5. The use of probiotics as antimicrobial additives in the food industries
    6. Using a combination of synthetic and non-synthetic drugs against infectious diseases

  • Guidelines for Submission

    Manuscripts can be submitted until the expiry of the deadline. Submissions must be previously unpublished and may not be under consideration elsewhere.

    Papers should be formatted according to the guidelines for authors (see: http://www.ajlifesciences.org/submission). By submitting your manuscripts to the special issue, you are acknowledging that you accept the rules established for publication of manuscripts, including agreement to pay the Article Processing Charges for the manuscripts. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the online manuscript submission system at http://www.sciencepublishinggroup.com/login. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal and will be listed together on the special issue website.
